Metallurgical grade fluorspar, containing 80-95% calcium fluoride (CaF₂), is primarily utilized as a flux in steelmaking and iron foundries. Its function is to lower the melting point of raw materials, facilitating the removal of impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus from molten metal.

Acid grade fluorspar, with a calcium fluoride content exceeding 97%, is utilized in the production of hydrofluoric acid, a precursor to numerous fluorine-containing compounds. Its high purity ensures consistency in applications requiring minimal impurities and precise chemical properties.

Aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)₃) is used as a flame retardant in polymers and as a raw material in aluminum chemicals, ceramics, and glass. It is also employed in pharmaceuticals as an antacid due to its chemical stability.
